Anapolon® is one of the oldest brand names of oxymetholone. Syntex developed the compound in the 1960s, and the Anapolon 50 brand was later marketed by Hoffmann-La Roche. Oxymetholone was first approved in Canada in 1970 and in the United States in 1972, as a medicine for anemia. It’s used for acquired and congenital aplastic anemia, myelofibrosis and hypoplastic anemias. It has also been used for osteoporosis and for muscle wasting. In strength-training literature, it’s known for dramatic gains in weight and strength in a short time. Many users call it one of the best-known bulking tablets.
Anapolon® is oxymetholone, a DHT-based steroid. A small change at the 17th carbon lets it survive digestion, which is why it works as a tablet. That change is also why it stresses the liver. Oxymetholone doesn’t convert directly into estrogen, but it has pronounced estrogenic effects of its own, such as water retention and gynecomastia risk. Each tablet contains 50 mg.
It is a brand name of oxymetholone, supplied as an oral tablet. Anapolon 50 refers to the 50 mg strength.
They contain the same active ingredient, oxymetholone. Anapolon and Anadrol are two different brand names for it. Anadrol was originally the Syntex name, and Anapolon is the brand used in several other countries.
It’s used to treat anemias caused by deficient red blood cell production, such as aplastic anemia and myelofibrosis. It has also been used for osteoporosis and muscle wasting.
Yes. It’s a 17-alpha-alkylated oral steroid, and it carries a boxed warning for serious liver problems, including peliosis hepatis and liver tumors.
All three contain oxymetholone at 50 mg per tablet and share the same pharmacology and half-life. The differences are the brand name, the manufacturer and the pack.
Oxymetholone (Anadrol-50) is approved by the FDA for certain anemias, under prescription. This specific product is not an approved medicine. In the United States, oxymetholone is a Schedule III controlled substance.
No. Non-prescribed use is regulated or prohibited in most countries
