Description

−

Primobolan® Depot is the injectable form of methenolone enanthate, made by Schering. Methenolone was first released in 1962 by Squibb as Nibal, in an oral form and as Nibal Depot for injection. By the mid-1960s, the German company Schering owned the rights and sold it as Primobolan and Primobolan Depot. It has been used in medicine for muscle wasting, anemia and recovery, and it’s a derivative of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). In strength-training literature, it has a reputation as the mildest and safest anabolic steroid, because side effects are rare. It’s described as giving slow, steady gains in lean muscle that are easy to keep.

Composition

+

Primobolan® Depot is methenolone with an enanthate ester attached. The ester is long, so the compound releases slowly after injection and stays active for about ten days. Methenolone is a DHT derivative with a methyl group at the first carbon. It isn’t 17-alpha-alkylated, so injection avoids the liver stress seen with many oral steroids. It doesn’t convert into estrogen. Each 1 mL ampoule contains 100 mg of methenolone enanthate in an oil base.

Outcome

+
  • Known for slow, steady gains in lean, dense muscle that tend to hold up afterward.
  • Doesn’t aromatize, so estrogen-related effects such as water retention and gynecomastia are generally not the concern.
  • Described as having a very low androgenic component, which is why it’s called mild.
  • Linked with muscle preservation and fat loss in the sports literature.
  • Binds well to androgen receptors and has a mild effect on cholesterol and blood pressure.
  • The long ester means a steady release over days.
  • In medicine, used for muscle wasting, anemia and recovery from illness.
  • These are commonly discussed associations in clinical and community literature, not approved performance claims.

Side Effects

+
  • Natural testosterone production drops with non-medical use.
  • Mild androgenic effects such as oily skin, acne and more facial and body hair.
  • Hair loss in people who are genetically prone to it.
  • Cholesterol changes, generally described as minimal compared with many other steroids.
  • Pain or reactions at the injection site.
  • In women, virilizing effects such as voice deepening, body hair growth and menstrual changes. These are described as less common than with other steroids but can still occur and may be permanent.
  • This is not a complete list and should not be treated as medical guidance.

Important Safety Information

+
  • Contraindications: Do not use it if you have prostate cancer, male breast cancer, severe heart, liver, or kidney disease, or a known allergy to the ingredients. It should not be used during pregnancy or by anyone under 18.
  • Common Side Effects: Acne, headache, mood changes, changes in libido, and pain or reactions at the injection site.
  • Serious Risks: Cardiovascular strain, cholesterol changes, reduced fertility, prolonged suppression of natural hormone production, and irreversible virilization in women.
  • Drug Testing: Methenolone is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency and can stay detectable for a long time after use.
  • Product Quality: Primobolan is one of the most imitated brand names in the world, and an ampoule sold under it may not contain what the label says.

FAQ

+

What is Primobolan® Depot Schering?

It is the original injectable methenolone enanthate from Schering, supplied as 1 mL ampoules at 100 mg per mL.

What is the difference between Primobolan Depot and oral Primobolan?

The ester and the route. Primobolan Depot uses methenolone enanthate and is injected, and it’s long-acting. Oral Primobolan uses methenolone acetate and is short-acting.

Does methenolone aromatize?

No. Methenolone doesn’t convert into estrogen, which is why it’s not linked to water retention or gynecomastia.

Is methenolone hard on the liver?

It’s considered easy on the liver. It isn’t 17-alpha-alkylated, and the injected form skips the first pass through the liver. Anyone with liver disease should still talk to a doctor first.

Is Primobolan® Depot FDA approved?

Primobolan Depot has been approved for medical use in some countries, but the original product has largely been withdrawn, and it isn’t an FDA-marketed product in the United States. In the United States, methenolone is a Schedule III controlled substance.

Is it legal without a prescription?

No. Non-prescribed use is regulated or prohibited in most countries.
